MALICE MIZER: merveilles ~Shuuen to Kisuu~ l'espace

Recordings of two live performances by Malice Mizer, edited into a complete concert experience of the visual kei rock band’s third studio album "merveilles", filmed while on tour in Japan during 1998 at the Nippon Budōkan Hall on April 1 and Yokohama Arena on July 22. The performances featured an onstage cathedral set piece, theatrics, costume changes, and skits. The final show of the "merveilles ~Shuuen to Kisuu~" tour held July 22, 1998 at Yokohama Arena, featured in the film, would be lead vocalist Gackt’s last performance with Malice Mizer before his departure from the group in January of 1999 and drummer Kami’s last live show before his sudden passing on June 21, 1999.

Journey : Escape & Frontiers - Live in Japan

In February 2017, Journey went to Japan for a special show at Tokyo’s Budokan that featured a complete performance of 1981’s Escape and 1983’s Frontiers at the request of legendary Japanese concert promoter Mr. Udo in honor of his 50th anniversary in the business. “There’s a few songs I don’t even recall playing, like [the Frontiers track] ‘Troubled Child,” Journey guitarist Neal Schon told Rolling Stone at the time. “Digging back into that stuff has been a lot of fun.”

Honor of Kings 2024·Co-creation Night

Aion

A portrait of four abandoned spaces inside the so-called “Zone of Alienation” in Chornobyl, Ukraine: a dripping swimming pool, a ruined concert hall, a mould-infested gymnasium, and an old village church. In each room, he made a recording of 10 minutes and then played the recording back into the room, recording it again. This process was repeated up to ten times. As the layers got denser, each room slowly began to unfold a drone with various overtones. For the visual representation of the four rooms, Kirkegaard explored a variety of techniques, working with layers, overexposure, and video feedback, that can be understood as analogous to his acoustical method.

Disintegration Loop 1.1

Disintegration Loop 1.1 consists of one static shot of lower Manhattan billowing smoke during the last hour of daylight on September 11th, 2001, set to the decaying pastoral tape loop Basinski had recorded in August, 2001. Shot from Basinski's roof in Williamsburg Brooklyn, this is an actual documentary of how he and his neighbors witnessed the end of that fateful day. It is a tragically beautiful cinema verite elegy dedicated to those who perished in the atrocities of September 11th, 2001.
