The concern that we are not allowing the proper time and space for early childhood is what has stimulated the move to make this film with the idea of generating conversation among adults about what we can do to support our little ones in this ever busier, more auto- mated, less loving, and often harsh world that they have come into. l hope this glimpse into our class can fulfill its purpose and stimulate the conversations we need to have in order to create a new paradigm in the way we under- stand early childhood: the significance of family and home, of rhythm and routine, invoking wonderful rela- tionships with each other and the earth, the impor- tance of time and space for deep, meaningful play... Dr Rudolf Steiner and the Science of Spiritual Realities

This television documentary takes us on a fascinating journey into the realms just beyond our five senses, where thoughts are things and creation begins. Rudolf Steiner not only found how to experience these areas directly, in a very safe and methodical manner, but he also developed specific techniques which, if utilized in the right way and with the proper intention, enable the individual to have insight into the spiritual realities. In addition to learning of this extraordinary individuality, we meet some of the men and women who are utilizing the impulses brought by Dr. Steiner to expand and enhance their specific vocations in very practical ways, e.g. education, agriculture, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, architecture, the arts, and working with retarded children and adults.

Good morning, dear children – the first three years at the Waldorf School

City of Dreams

This fascinating documentary explores the collaboration between Marion Mahony, the first registered woman architect in the world and the longest serving designer in Frank Lloyd Wright’s practice, and husband Walter Burley Griffin. Their struggle with unyielding bureaucracy, the philosophies that underscored their life and work, and their passionate commitment to an architecture that expressed a balance between society and the environment and an affinity between the human spirit and the natural world. The film weaves together their personal and professional lives, drawing on archival and contemporary footage of their work, an extensive collection of photographs, the couple’s own correspondance and writing, and interviews with prominent architects, social historians and the people who knew them.

The Dreamers

The Dreamers (1985) is a posthumous short film assembled by Oja Kodar from unfinished footage directed by Orson Welles in 1982. Edited after Welles’s death, the film derives from fragmentary material intended for an uncompleted adaptation of stories by Isak Dinesen. The 1985 version represents an editorial assembly rather than a completed work authored by Welles, presenting selected footage in a reconstructed form for archival circulation. (Note: This is a posthumous editorial reconstruction. The original 1982 project exists separately as an unfinished Welles work and was never completed or released by him.)

I return to my first school and join with the present students and teachers in their everyday adventures of learning. Through the stories that unfold we enter imaginary worlds and intimate relationships. 'Small Things, Big Things' is a celebration of when Education becomes Art.
