The insurrectionary atmosphere of May 68, four young people try to evolve in their respective circles despite the conflicts. Lucien, a writer in the making, recounts what he sees and experiences.
September 1945. South of France. War is over. Three young artists reunite to discuss the future. One of them, Nicolas, presents a plan for all the new corporations that are going to grow soon, in which advertising and art can merge. But Raphaël thinks differently. He wants fresh air and poetry. Therefore, he leaves. Choosing the freedom of nature like a young bohemian artist.
David has several problems. At a very young age, he sees his father become addicted to drugs and his mother to alcohol. His parents divorce because of family conflicts. He rarely sees his sisters, who live with their father. Everything goes wrong, both at school and at home. To escape his turmoil, he finds refuge in alcohol and drugs. At the age of 16, he has already attempted suicide three times. Thanks to the intervention of a vigilant teacher, he meets with a social worker at school.

For several years, dozens of workers from Quebec emigrated to New Caledonia (French collectivity, Pacific) to work in the mining sector. At the same time, dozens of students from New Caledonia came to Quebec to get trained in the Cégeps of northern Quebec. While some of these people stayed in the host country and others returned to their home country. This video installation elucidates the heart of these intertwined human migrations. Within this collection of shared memories related to the feeling of belonging and the sensation of “at home”, the installation interrogates the mobility and permeability of identity boundaries and the possibility to feel “belonging together” through our respective origins.

Her son Guiseppe (Stefano Accorsi), who appears to be slightly mentally handicapped, guards the wolves he’s befriended up there, especially the black pack leader he calls Carbone.
