Overview

Painter and director Qiu Jiongjiong returns with another kaleidoscopic treasure after his Silver Leopard-winning debut narrative film, A New Old Play. Qiu turns his lens on the expansive history of Sichuan through four millennia of feasting — from an ancestor's funeral to a king's spring rite, from an exiled poet's banquet to a waif's birthday. The living and the dead, gods and ghosts, all gather at the same table, witnessed by the forever seesawing Sun and Moon.
